TRON ecosystem is maintained by the power of 27 Super Representatives (SR) and the holders who support them. In particular, if TRX holders do not elect the correct SR and sincere nodes, problems will arise in the continuous and stable operation of TRON, which will have a significant adverse effect on the entire TRON ecosystem.
In this guide, we want to help TRX holders participate in the ecosystem by guiding them how to vote for the SR they support.
1. Connect your wallet to TronScan
When you go to TronScan, there is “ConnectWallet” button in the upper right corner of the screen.
TronScan supports Ledger and TronLink.
- If you are using Ledger, connect the Ledger to the PC in advance and connect the Tron app while running.
- If you are using TronLink, after installing the TronLink Chrome Extension, add your own account in advance and connect.
If necessary, you can change the site language setting at the bottom of the homepage as shown below.
When the connection is complete, your wallet address is printed as shown below.
2. Staking Resources
Tron will need to stake TRX in Energy or Bandwidth and then vote that amount to SR to earn voting rewards. Votes can be withdrawn or changed to another SR at any time, but staked assets can be unstaked into liquid assets after 3 days.
If you hover your mouse over your wallet address, a drop-down menu will appear, from which you can click on your address and you will be taken to your account information page.
Click the “Obtain” button in the “Resources” box of the Account Information page.
When you click the button, a pop-up window appears as shown below.
Select Energy or Bandwidth and enter the amount you want to stake.
If you agree to lock the asset for 72 hours (3 days), the Stake button is activated and the transaction is executed when the Stake button is pressed.
(The connected Ledger and TronLink each go through the process of signing the corresponding transaction.)
3. Vote for Super Representative
Access the “Votes” menu from “Governance” at the top of the page.
When you access the Votes page, a list of Super Representatives is displayed according to the voting volume ranking, and you can search for the Super Representative you want. In the list of super representatives, the address of each representative, the amount of votes, and the annual rate of return of rewards that can be received when voting for the representative are output.
If you press the green “Voting” button on the right, the number of voting rights you currently have is displayed as shown below, and you can enter the amount you want to vote on the right side of each representative. After inputting, press the “Voting” button again to start voting.
TRON’s Super Representative voting will be reflected when a new block generation round(6 hour cycle) begins. The time remaining until the next round is displayed at the top of the Votes page.
4. Receive Voting Rewards
If you go to your account information page, there is TRON Power information on the right side.
Unwithdrawn Rewards is the amount of rewards that have not yet been received and you can collect them by clicking Withdraw.
